Urban Design Festival in Singapore

Fantastic initiative from the passionate urban designers at the Singapore @udfsg! Walk the streets of the Tanjong Pagar district and look for the #udfsg signs to discover how cities work and how we can shape the future of the spaces we live in.

Tanjong Pagar is one of the central areas of Singapore that in the past was a fishing village on the very shore of the ocean. Compare it with the island’s current outline to appreciate the scale of the land reclamation effort that the city-state undertook. Tanjong Pagar has changed over the years as well. With its futuristic skyscrapers towering over colorful shophouses, majestic temples and lively markets, its a paradise for anyone who enjoys a vibrant city life.

Urban planning professionals can learn a lot about how a masterful blend of old and new creates unique metropolitan experiences.
